TheForkUserMy wife and I visited this restaurant twice in our 30 day stay in Rome and it is about and hour away from Downtown Rome, but it is definitely worth the drive (twice). The people are very nice and accomadating and after you leave you feel a part of the community there. Like it says on their sign entering the restaurant, "Enter as strangers, leave as friends" and it certainly rings true. Thank you very much for your wonderful service!

TheForkUserThis little restaurant is a gem! Located in a village in the countryside close to Rome offers excellent, genuine, traditional food and great service. We had a lovely family Easter lunch and we will go back again.

TheForkUserWe returned here after having enjoyed a lovely meal here several years ago and were pleased to repeat our experience. It was quiet but we ate on the terrace which had a lovely view over the surrounding grounds and countryside . The menu is accessed via a barcode and whilst not extensive has a good variety of starters ,pasta dishes ,mains and desserts. The wine list is similarly not extensive but very reasonably priced. We had the grilled lamb, stuffed pork parcels and beef tagliata which were all excellent with a side of sliced roasted potatoes. The portions were just right! We also had a good tirimisiu and a lovely millefoglie dessert which was a creme patisserie infused with amarena and cherries with Millefoglie shards. The whole meal with wine and sparking water and bread for three people cost less that £90 euros which we thought was very reasonable. It was very peaceful as it was a quiet night which did not bother us. We would gladly return.

It would have been useful to have had someone who spoke Italian in our party to help translate the menu and generally iron out misunderstanding but it is always a delight to eat somewhere authentic where Italians choose to go to.

The only downside is the extra charge for booking with the fork. In restaurants without the fork discounts then it is better to book on your own!!

TheForkUserTradition par excellence, typical dishes from Rieti and Rome are offered. I couldn't help but try the amatriciana, cooked according to the classic recipe, truly fantastic. I also tried one of the classics of Roman tradition, namely coda alla vaccinara. I don't remember how long it's been since I got my fingers dirty with sauce to better enjoy this symbolic dish of poor Roman cuisine. To conclude, I must compliment the staff, truly kind and helpful (this also comes if you like long or short pasta for the first courses, in order to satisfy every need of the customer. Highly recommended, also for the unbeatable quality-price ratio.
